Spotlight Session: The Power and Potential of AI in Schools

How might we focus on what generative AI enables in our schools rather than what it prevents? The rapid rise of artificial intelligence has introduced a powerful new tool in education and beyond, but it has also reinvigorated a longstanding conversation about what the role of technology should be in learning. This session will introduce four core competencies for effective use of AI in school and how to develop them. We’ll review the current state of generative AI in education, consider examples and use cases from a variety of schools, and reflect on our hopes and fears about the impact of AI on learning and wellness.
