What is a good question – or rather, how does a good question prompt and promote inquiry? What does it mean to have an inquiring mind? How could educators and students address and approach teaching and learning with an inquiring mind? In this seminar, participants will learn how to address, approach, and assess teaching and learning experiences with an inquiring mind. They will learn how to rephrase the performance objectives of academic standards and learning targets into good questions that will build background knowledge, set the instructional focus, serve as assessments, and personalize learning. They will also learn how to plan and provide inquiry-based teaching and learning experiences driven by good questions that will prompt students to acquire foundational knowledge, demonstrate understanding, deepen awareness, and develop expertise.
