Becoming Whole: Integrating Wellbeing As Core Curriculum

The mission of many independent schools across the globe is to reach and teach the whole student and to cultivate learning and growth in mind, body, and spirit. The emergence of wellbeing as a vital element in education allows our schools to become even truer forms of what we say we are. Pomfret School offers one model of how to realize this through the creation of a Wellbeing department in our academic program. We've also developed an integrated curriculum, including a student-led social-emotional learning program called QUEST. Just as our schools have made thinking more visible in the classroom during the last decade, we have begun the journey to make wellbeing even more visible throughout all facets of school life. Come and learn how we have made wellbeing a central and sustainable component at Pomfret and how our students have taken the wheel to drive their own learning and skill development as they work to cultivate their own wellbeing both in and outside of the classroom.
