Unveiling Students' Science Misconceptions to Guide Planning

Teachers must give students opportunities to actively explore their misconceptions and experience concrete examples that contradict their misconceptions. Before teachers can plan this level of instruction, they must uncover these misconceptions. This session will look at strategies to bring misconceptions to light and provide time to work with colleagues to brainstorm ways to address common science misconceptions.
